The IPL 2026 champion will receive a staggering ₹20 crore cash prize. This amount is awarded to the franchise after winning the final and lifting the IPL trophy.
While the trophy itself carries immense prestige, the financial reward is equally significant.

Increased sponsorship opportunities
Higher franchise valuation
Global recognition
Historic status in IPL history
For teams like RCB and GT competing in the final, the stakes are enormous.
IPL 2026 Runner-Up Prize Money
The runners-up may miss out on the trophy, but they still earn a substantial ₹13 crore reward.

The playoff system in the IPL also rewards teams finishing third and fourth.
Third Place Team
The team eliminated in Qualifier 2 receives:
₹7 Crore

The award is often considered a symbol of batting dominance.

Emerging Player Award
Every IPL season introduces exciting young talent.
The Emerging Player Award celebrates the best young cricketer of the tournament.

Does IPL Prize Money Go Directly to Players?
This is one of the most searched questions every season.
The official prize money is awarded to the franchise, not directly to individual players. However, many franchises distribute a portion of the winnings among players, coaching staff, support staff, and management.
The exact distribution varies from franchise to franchise.
Some teams offer significant bonuses to players after winning the title.
